The IDB Community Band had our training day for the Scottish Championships on Sunday. It was great to see Chic Keenan, who took us down memory lane, rehearsing and playing his arrangement of Basin St Blues. Rehearsal of the test piece went well. Feels like it's coming together. Bit more work to do, but our conductor, John Boax, keeps us on our toes. Looking forward to competing in our first Scottish Championships in Perth on the 8th March💕

Today our senior band had their annual training day in preparation for the upcoming Scottish Championships. It was a great opportunity for the band to socialise and also to learn from our wonderful set of tutors! We would like to thank Alex Ramsay, Chris Hamilton, Carole Ednie, Joshua Parkhill, Andy McKreel and Iona Crosby for coming and sharing their musical expertise🎺 We would also like to thank The Gailes Hotel & Spa for allowing us to host our training day here 💕

Today marked our final gig of 2025 with some of us braving the weather to play at the Crossmanay event ❄️💕 This year has been a brilliant one for the organisation as a whole and we cannot wait for what 2026 has in store for us ….🎉✨ Happy New Year from all of us at IDB🥳

From everyone in our IDB family we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎉💫 To conclude our Christmas gigs for the year, members from across our organisation played tonight in the The Gailes Hotel & Spa, The Loans Inn and at Dreghorn and Springside Parish Church. All are gigs where the bands absolutely love being able to spread some festive cheer and we thoroughly look forward to these each year 🎄✨💕
