Brett Baker comes to Irvine

Irvine and Dreghorn Brass are excited to announce that they will be working with trombone virtuoso, educator and conductor Dr Brett Baker at their upcoming Learning Weekend on 13th/14th January 2024.

During the weekend Brett will be working with our contest and youth bands and delivering performance workshops that are open to all brass players. The workshops include a ‘Trombone – Come and Play’ session and we’d love trombone players from other bands to come play in a trombone choir.

The highlight of the weekend will be on Saturday 13th evening at 7pm

In Fullarton ConneXions, Irvine where Brett will be guest artist in a concert with the band.

The band are delighted to be working with the Black Dyke star and our trombone players are especially excited to perform and learn with one of the world’s leading trombonists.

‘I am thrilled to be travelling back to Scotland to work with Irvine and Dreghorn Brass’, adds Brett. ‘This will be the first time I have played in Ayrshire so the concert and Learning Weekend is a great start to the year’.
