A new chapter for IDB!

Recently, we published an update announcing that we had been successful in our application to obtain SCIO status. The keen eyed followers amongst you will also have noticed that we have been very quiet on social media since the summer.

We have been very busy in the background working with the council and other organisations to try and secure the future development of the band and our role in the North Ayrshire community and today we are delighted to announce the first major step in that process is now a success!

Our application to take ownership of the Dunlop Memorial Hall in Dreghorn has been approved by North Ayrshire council! This is a fantastic opportunity for us as a band but also for the local community as we hope to turn the venue around into a facility that not only fits the bands needs perfectly but also one that can be used by the community and musical education partners in the area.

We are now starting to plan the development of the hall and also the fund raising that we will have to do to make our dreams for the hall become a reality.

We would like to thank all those in the local community who offered their support of our application and we are delighted to say that we will soon be neighbours and that the band is moving back towards its historical routes in the village of Dreghorn!

Keep your eyes on our social media pages and website for information on how you can support us and how you can get involved in the next stage of our history!
